Bio

Ryan van Dijk is an award-winning Australian screenwriter focused on creating high end film and television for international markets. His work with writing partner Alexei Mizin includes projects for Apple TV + and AMC Networks.

Ryan earned his Master of Film from the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts. His award-winning graduating film Relationship Rehab was optioned for television by Emmy and BAFTA winning Hoodlum. Vanished, his first collaboration with fellow VCA alumni Alexei Mizin, won the Monte Miller Award at the 47th Annual AWGIE Awards and received Screen Australia development funding.

In 2018, Ryan and Alexei sold an original television pilot to Apple and commenced a first-look development deal with the AMC Network. The pair were also selected for Screen Australia’s first ever Talent USA delegation, attending the Australian International Screen Forum at the Lincoln Centre in New York.

Ryan and Alexei are currently writing a second project for AppleTV+ (based on a novel by bestselling Bird Box author Josh Malerman) and developing a bold new fantasy series with Animal Logic’s live action genre arm Truant Pictures. On home soil, they continue to collaborate with Australia’s leading producers, working on exciting new projects from Oscar-winners See-Saw Films to Hoodlum and Fremantle Media.

Ryan is developing numerous projects for the international market and is represented by Kathryn Fleming at The Fleming Agency.
